"MTB sport means everything to me - freedom, relaxation and simply having fun"

by Nikol Stefic on March 31, 2022

Boris Tetzlaff has been a passionate MTB rider all his life. Born in Mödling, he has collected countless titles and successes in his downhill career. Among other things, the rider from Upper Styria became the Austrian national champion and two-time European junior vice-champion. Boris now works for Red Bull SPECT Eyewear.

Early Practice

Tetzlaff got into cycling very early - he was already pedalling hard at the age of two. He made his first MTB experiences in Schladming. "When a downhill track was built on the Planai, there was no stopping me," says Tetzlaff.

From the age of 14, he gained his first racing experience and soon competed in international competitions. The following years were crowned with success - he is still active in racing today. As recently as 2019, he achieved first place overall in the Austria Gravity Series and third place in the Austrian MTB Championships.

Daily dose of motivation

Over the years, a lot of ambition and enthusiasm for the sport have always accompanied him: "It just motivates me to get up every day and ride the perfect run." Although he has already seen a lot, he especially appreciates the Austrian trails. He is most often found on his home trail, on the Wexl Trails or in the bike park in Schladming - either training or just for fun.

His passion is also reflected in his goals for this year. "I just want to be on the bike as much as possible," says Tetzlaff. Because for him, MTB sport means everything: relaxation, freedom and fun - on every single descent. "The fact that I can ride for such a cool company like Red Bull SPECT Eyewear today just makes me mega proud."
